If you need support now.

Shadow work is a reflective practice, not crisis support. If you are struggling right now, the services on this page are the right door — free, confidential, and staffed by people trained for exactly this.

When to seek professional help

Nothing on this site is therapy, and none of it diagnoses anything. Some things deserve more than reflection: a low mood that will not lift, thoughts of harming yourself, old trauma surfacing, or a dependence you cannot put down on your own. If any of those are present, please talk to your GP, refer yourself to NHS talking therapies, or find a qualified therapist through a professional register such as BACP or UKCP.

The Code of Ethics asks the same of every practitioner: this work is not for someone in acute crisis, and a practitioner who meets one will always refer on to the professional support that fits. That is not a closed door — many people return to the work later, once their footing is steadier.
